A dedicated region for Swiss law firms

Andri has a separate Swiss region, built specifically for Swiss firms. Case documents and their search index are stored exclusively in Zurich.
Built together with Swiss firms
Swiss law firms helped shape the Swiss region; we drew up the data processing agreement with a Swiss law firm.

Case documents and their search index
Encrypted at rest, exclusively in Switzerland
Swiss data residency for your case documents
In the Swiss region, case documents and their search index are stored encrypted at rest, exclusively in Switzerland, in a data centre in Zurich.
Swiss data residency covers these stored case documents and their search index. Chat history and AI summaries are in Ireland, which offers adequate data protection under Art. 16(1) of the Swiss FADP.
Stateless language models on Amazon Bedrock
Stateless
For analysis we use language models on Amazon Bedrock within Europe. They are fully stateless: the model processes your request, returns the answer and keeps nothing afterwards.
Zero Data Retention
Zero data retention applies: neither AWS nor the model provider stores inputs or answers, and the model provider has no access to them.
Zero Operator Access
Amazon Bedrock's inference infrastructure is designed for zero operator access, following the approach of the AWS Nitro System: there is no mechanism for any AWS operator to sign in to the systems or access inputs and outputs.

Questions from Swiss firms
How does Andri address professional secrecy under Art. 13 BGFA and Art. 321 StGB?
The data processing agreement for Swiss firms expressly names the BGFA and Art. 321 StGB. All staff and sub-processors with access to client data are bound by confidentiality obligations no less stringent than professional secrecy under the BGFA and Art. 321 StGB. Case documents and their search index are stored in Zurich, processing takes place within Europe, and Andri does not train models with your data. The agreement is available on request for your review.
Where is client data stored and processed, and who has access?
In the Swiss region, case documents and their search index are stored exclusively in a data centre in Zurich. Chat history, AI summaries and compute run in Andri's European infrastructure. Documents are processed within Europe. For the language models on Amazon Bedrock, zero data retention applies: neither AWS nor the model provider stores inputs or answers, and the model provider has no access to them. All staff and sub-processors with access to client data are bound by confidentiality obligations no less stringent than professional secrecy under the BGFA and Art. 321 StGB.
What is client data used for? Is it used for training?
Andri uses your firm's data to provide the service to your firm. Andri does not train models with your data.
Is there a data processing agreement and further privacy and security documentation?
Yes. For Swiss firms there is a data processing agreement, drawn up together with a Swiss law firm; it is available on request. Our privacy policy, the security page and the Help Center at docs.andri.ai cover the rest.
How does my firm get into the Swiss region?
A firm in Switzerland is created in the Swiss region before the first upload. The region is fixed once chosen. If you have questions about the setup, write to us.
Does all data stay in Switzerland?
Not all of it. In the Swiss region, case documents and their search index are stored encrypted, exclusively in a data centre in Zurich. Chat history and AI summaries are in Ireland, which offers adequate data protection under Art. 16(1) of the Swiss FADP. The language models on Amazon Bedrock process requests within Europe and keep nothing afterwards.
Can AWS operators or the model provider see the content of my matters?
Not in the AI processing of your matters on Amazon Bedrock. Its inference infrastructure is designed for zero operator access, following the approach of the AWS Nitro System: there is no mechanism for any AWS operator to sign in to the systems or access inputs and outputs. The model provider has no access to inputs and answers, and zero data retention applies.
